Lisa Conant, is Professor and Chair of Political Science at the University of Denver. Her current research interests concentrate on legal mobilization concerning human rights in the European Court of Human Rights and EU’s Court of Justice (ECJ). Her scholarship has also explored the rights of EU citizenship, the impact of innovative ECJ case law on EU and national policy, and the Europeanization and globalization of national courts. She was a postdoctoral Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and a Social Science Research Council and Berlin Program doctoral fellow at the Free University of Berlin. She completed her PhD and MA in political science at the University of Washington and her BA in international relations at the University of Minnesota. She is author of Justice Contained: Law and Politics in the European Union (Cornell University Press, 2002) and has published in several edited volumes and journals including Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of European Public Policy, and Law & Policy.
